My wife and I stayed at the Furore Grand Hotel on the Amalfi Coast in May 2025. We were in Italy for our honeymoon, and our two night stay at this hotel was our first stop. We hired a private driver to transport us from Naples International Airport to the hotel, which was about a one and one half hour drive. The hotel is near the base of the Lattari Mountains, which form the Sorrentine Peninsula, and the drive to the hotel took us down a very windy, narrow road leading to the hotel.
Booking:
The Furore Grand Hotel is part of Hilton’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World partnership. I used two Hilton Free Night Certificates, which I earned by meeting spending thresholds on my Hilton Aspire credit card. The cash price at booking was $1,400 per night, so this was an excellent use of these Free Night Certificates.
Check-in:
We arrived at the hotel around 8:00 p.m. We had been traveling for almost twenty four hours, and we were both extremely tired and hungry. We went to the front desk to begin the check in process, and we then went to the on-site restaurant, as we were both extremely hungry from the long day. I had langostino pasta, and my wife had calamari. Both meals were amazing.
While we were eating, the front desk agent came to our table and told us our room was ready whenever we finished dinner. She also told us the hotel had a “very special” surprise for us. We finished dinner, and we were taken to our room. I was shocked when we got to our room. We had been upgraded from a base “Deluxe Terrace” room to a “Signature Pool Suite,” which is the hotel’s top tier room. The room was unbelievable. The room itself was huge (almost 1200 square feet)! There was a door that opened to a small garden and plunge pool, and the garden and pool overlooked the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea.
Room:
I was shocked when we checked into our room. Upon check in, the front desk agent told us they had a “special surprise” for us. She led us to our room, and we had been upgraded from a base “Deluxe Terrace” room to a “Signature Pool Suite,” which is the hotel’s top tier room. The room was unbelievable. The room itself was huge (almost 1200 square feet)! There was a door that opened to a small garden and plunge pool, and the garden and pool overlooked the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea. We were also provided a plate of chocolate covered strawberries in our room, which were delicious.
I only used the pool once, and it was very warm. We did get to watch the sunset from the room’s garden on the second night of our stay. The hotel is not positioned at a great angle for the sunsets this time of year, but it is still amazing getting to watch the sun set over the water on the Amalfi Coast.
If I had one complaint about the room, it would be some stains on the desk. It looked like multiple guests had left drinks or plates on the desk, which had caused some stains. Other than that, the room was amazing, and we were extremely happy to get the amazing upgrade.

Food:
The food at the hotel was amazing. We ate dinner in the main hotel both nights of our stay. The hotel does offer a Michelin star restaurant, but we opted to not eat there. The first night, I had langostino pasta, and my wife had calamari. The second night, we split a pizza.
Breakfast was even better, and it was also included with our stay because of my Hilton Diamond status. We ate breakfast each morning on a patio, which overlooked the sea. There were numerous options of pastries, yogurts, omelettes, and eggs benedict to choose from. There were some options for specialized versions of eggs benedict on the menu, but my wife and I opted for the included options each morning.
Amenities:
We did not take advantage of many of the amenities offered by the hotel, which was disappointing because the hotel had a lot to offer. The pools had amazing views overlooking the water, and the lighting around the main pool at night was spectacular.
One highlight of the hotel’s service was they allowed us to shower in the spa on our last day there, even after we’d checked out. My wife and I hiked to the Path of the Gods and back after checking out on our last morning. We returned to the hotel extremely sweaty and wanted to shower before we left for Rome. We were allowed to use the spa’s showers since we had left our room already. While we did not use other spa service, it looked like it would have been just as great of an experience as the rest of the hotel.

Value:
The hotel provided amazing value. As stated, I had used two Hilton Free Night Certificates to book the hotel. Our base room that I had booked cost approximately $1,400 per night, and the suite that we were upgraded to was over $2,200 per night! That is a great use of those free night certificates!
As you might expect, everything else offered at this hotel comes with a price tag that matches the room rates. Dinner for the two of us each night was between $150-$200 each night. While our breakfast was included in the cost, it would have been very pricey as well if we would have been paying for it.
Overall Impression:
The Furore Grand Hotel is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is beautiful, the service and food are amazing, and the views are incredible. The fact that I was able to book a hotel of this caliber on the Amalfi Coast using points (or in my case Free Night Certificates) still blows my mind. I wish we would have spent more time here during our honeymoon, and I definitely hope to return some day.
