My wife and I made a spontaneous one night trip to Las Vegas in December 2026. This hotel has a great location in the center of the strip, directly south of the Bellagio. There is no casino at this hotel, which I like and makes the hotel seem not as loud.
Booking:
I had been wanting to try the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas for quite some time, and I booked it for 100,000 Hilton Honors points on the day of our arrival. Cash rates for the basic rooms started around $550 per night. This isn’t the best value I’ve received from points, but I felt is was well worth it to check off another one of my bucket list hotels.
Check-in:
We arrived at the hotel at approximately 4:00 p.m. The hotel had its Christmas decorations up, which looked great! I had checked room availability shortly before our arrival to see if a room upgrade would be available because of my Diamond status, but the website said the hotel was sold out. Upon check in though, we were told we were upgraded from the base “city view” room to a “Strip view” room. I still inquired about a suite upgrade. I was told we could upgrade to a “Penthouse Suite” for $400 for the night or the “Presidential Suite” for $900 for the night. I decided to pass on both.

Room:
Although the layout of the room was typical for a hotel room, the room was very spacious. It overlooked the Las Vegas Strip, and there was a comfortable sofa next to the window. There was a large soaking tub in the bathroom, and I was happy to see the bathroom also had a dual vanity.
While we were only staying at the hotel for one night and did not have much luggage, something I like to do when staying at a hotel is completely unpack my suitcase, and I was happy to see there was ample drawers and closet space for those with more luggage. Most of this space was near the entrance to the room, which is nice if one person needs to access it while another person is trying to sleep.
My one complaint about the room was the bed and pillows. Both the bed and pillows were extremely soft (way too soft for my liking), so if you prefer more firm mattresses and pillows, beware that you may not sleep well at this hotel.

Food:
We had dinner elsewhere, but we ordered ice cream from room service and had breakfast at the hotel the following morning. Service is where the Waldorf Astoria chain really shines, and room service was no exception. We wanted an ice cream sundae, but that was not on the menu. In the comments of our order, we asked if they could make an ice cream sundae instead of just the vanilla ice cream offered on the menu, and the hotel delivered!
For breakfast the following morning, I ordered a prime rib roast beef sandwich, and my wife ordered lox on a bagel. Both options were delicious, and we ended up sharing each of our breakfasts.
As with any Waldorf Astoria, food was pricey, but the cost was somewhat offset by the $25 per person credit I received for having Diamond status with Hilton by having my American Express Aspire card. The ice cream sundae cost $23, which included a $7.50 service charge, and our breakfast was $93.
Amenities:
The hotel has a spa and pool, but we did not use either. An amenity that did come in handy though was the hotel’s “house car.” This car is a newer 7 series BMW. It will take you anywhere within two miles of the hotel. We used it twice; once to go down the Strip for dinner and then the following morning to be taken to the airport.

Value:
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is one of the less expensive Waldorf Astoria hotels, so the value might not be as good as other Waldorf Astoria hotels in terms of a “cent per point” value. If you are looking to maximize cent per point value, there are likely better options, but if you are looking for a luxury hotel in the center of the Las Vegas strip that is bookable for a reasonable amount of points and has great availability, the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a great choice.
Overall Impression:
As far as Las Vegas hotel options, the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is one of the better hotel options to book using Hilton Honors points. While I would have liked the bed and pillows to be better, the rest of the hotel’s services and amenities were exactly what I have come to expect from the Waldorf Astoria brand, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay here.
